DAN SWIFT

Dan Daniel Swift, a retired U.S. foreign service officer and economist, is a partner at Field Focus and a senior research analyst for the Center on Economic and Financial Power (CEFP) at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD).

Before Field Focus and FDD, Dan led Prosper Africa, a 17-agency presidential-level national security initiative to increase two-way trade and investment between the United States and Africa. He retired as an acting deputy assistant administrator.

Daniel has served as a U.S. diplomat in Washington, Jordan, Myanmar (Burma), Ethiopia, and South Africa. Dan is the recipient of several Superior Honor Awards and Meritorious Service Awards. In 2024, he earned USAID’s Arnold Herberger Award for Applied Economic Analysis.

Before joining the Foreign Service, Daniel was an economist and a research fellow at the Logistics Management Institute. He holds two masters’ degrees from the University of Chicago and an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

TRACY SWIFT

Tracy is the founder and managing partner of Field Focus LLC. She is an international development professional, former USAID Foreign Service Contracting Officer, and licensed attorney. Currently based in Amman, Jordan, she manages business development, HR, and day-to-day operations for Field Focus, teaches many of the USAID Acquisition & Assistance courses, and provides advice and support to several overseas USAID missions. She holds a BA from Georgetown University and a JD from George Mason University.

JAIMY LEWIS

Jaimy has supported USAID missions in Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe for over five years. Prior to joining Field Focus in 2015, she worked as an estate and tax planning attorney. She began her government contracting career at the U.S. Department of Defense as a contract specialist with the Air Force Research Lab in 2009. She holds a JD from George Mason University, an LLM in Taxation from the University of Denver, and received her BS in Marketing from Florida State University.
